STAFFORD
People, businesses, public decisions, local history, community projects, and the work of building a stronger town.
HOMETOWN REPORTING & COMMENTARYStafford is the foundation—not the boundary.
A dedicated home for the people, ideas, history, and decisions shaping Stafford and Connecticut—grounded in the community discussion that started it all.
In 2015, Greg Post created the Stafford Springs Discussion Page to give his hometown a place to exchange information, debate local issues, ask questions, and stay connected.
It was never perfect. Real communities are not. But it proved something important: people want a place where local knowledge can move, neighbors can be heard, and disagreement does not have to end the relationship.
The Stafford Independent grew from that same belief. Local Roots honors the place and the people who laid the foundation while creating room for deeper writing about Stafford, Connecticut, and the forces shaping life here.
Local does not mean small. It means close enough to see the consequences.
People, businesses, public decisions, local history, community projects, and the work of building a stronger town.

Send a story leadThe Stafford Springs Discussion Page creates a digital town square for information, debate, and connection.
The discussion expands into interviews, video, original writing, and ideas that travel beyond town lines.
The foundation becomes a permanent editorial home for Stafford and Connecticut stories—with room to grow.
Reporting, opinion, and community commentary should be labeled honestly.
The goal is not to win the day. It is to help people understand what is actually happening.
Community voices deserve credit, permission, privacy, and a fair representation of what they meant.
This is civic coverage—not an official arm of the town, a party, or any institution.
